Goodbye gaming

After another day of pain in my right arm, I’ve realized I’ve got to do something serious about it. I can’t do my job if my arm hurts so much.
In thinking about it, at night I spend the most time on the computer gaming. Hours on end. This is causing the repetitive stress in my arm.
There’s only one thing I can do to solve the problem. I need to get off the computer, and that means I need to stop playing computer games. Yes, I really like games, but I have to have priorities.
Instead of gaming so much, I’ll spend more time watching TV and sleeping. I haven’t done enough this in the past, and it’s time I did.

  1. Take a week off and see how it goes. That’s what I do…
You could also buy an Xbox or Playstation. Console controllers may give you a “numb thumb” though.

  2. This is probably horrible advice, but you could think of this as an opportunity to switch the mouse to the other hand and slowly become ambidextrous. Assuming the other arm and hand have been used far less for computer work you should theorieically have years of pain free gaming still in it.
    Okay, just a thought. 🙂

  3. My god man I hope you are sitting in an ergonomic chair with an ergonomic mouse at an ergonomic desk. You might want to cut your game play down and check out to make sure that you are ergonomically correct. My dad had carpel tunnel surgery and that truly sucked.
Or you could switch to a PC gamepad
Or this could be a lame april fools day joke
