The computer won’t boot. It was working fine 8 hours ago.
Most likely the hard drive is failing.
It’s going to be a long Friday.

Don’t hope for the best. Get the best. Get an iMac. You can still run WOW, and you can kick that anti-virus/anti-spyware stuff to the curb.

I play WoW on my Mac and PC… It’s too bad it just looks so much better on the PC with a superior graphics card.
The click — whirl is just it’s way of saying that you should use a hammer on it… hopefully it’s just a non-critical sector that’s bad and can be corrected, skipped with chkdsk /f /r ,etc…
… if not, hopefully you had a RAID

WoW looks better on my PC than my Mac-Mini. It won’t when I upgrade to a PowerMac next year tho.
Sadly, it will still look better on a PC. Apple likes to keep it’s machines supplied with the ‘average’ video card of the day. Of course you can put a top end ATI, etc. card in the PowerMac, but somehow the drivers will be behide the curve. Maybe one day.
Wow isn’t nearly as taxing as, say, Half Life 2. I don’t think having the latest uber drivers will be an issue.
Also, next gen Powermacs will be Intel based, so there’s that.
Yeah damn that sucks. Your drive never would have failed if only you had been using a Mac. Damn.
Macs don’t prevent drives from failing. They prevent the pc from sucking when the drives are working though.
dude, my mac hard drive totally took a dump the other day. of course it was my old G4, but still. No computer is safe from the head crash.
