Currently, I’m on vacation with my family on the island of Kauai. I am sitting in a car on a laptop with an EVDO card since there is no internet or phone service in the bed & breakfast we are staying. As a result my blogging will be light.
Since I cannot make much good content, I’m asking you to do it.
Many of you are ‘blurkers’, lurkers at my blog that read but don’t comment. That’s fine with me, but here’s a chance to you to post who you are and maybe even plug your own weblog. So please use the comments here to introduce yourself to the rest of the Loyal Cruft Reader community.

I’ll go first.
I’m not exactly a blurker, since I do comment periodically. My husband is one of Mike’s subordinates. I started reading Mike’s blog because of his entry on how to build a gyros cooker. I thought that was so cool, I hooked his blog into my RSS reader.
I have 3 kiddos and write about them on my blog. I also write about writing, books, movies and homeschooling.
I wonder where on Kauai you are? We’re making our first trip there (have been to Oahu and Maui before) in July and are staying for a few days in a house in Kalaheo, about 7 miles from Poipu beach.
Yes, I am the “Blurker from Bakersfield”. I am in awe of the tech abilities of others, but a bit lazy at learning myself. Mike is soooo cool at this stuff!
I subscribed to Mike’s blog after finding a link to his Garbage Can Smoker article. It turned out that we both work for Disney, and we met up later at a Disney tech event.

No longer a “blurker”, I used to be one of Mike’s subordinates. I am however not married to Tammy and have only one baby girl (15 months of age, with her own dedicated blog, sadly in French http://tryphoon.blogspot.com).
I have recently started my own blog after years of considering it and even more years in the web industry and am still trying to find my style (http://www.tryphoon.com)
I currently live in the UK, having left my French home sweet home 7 years ago (for a one year break in the UK). I am now married here with a (blogless) English Rose and have been reading Mike’s blog frequently (RSS feed) for almost a year.

I met Mike back in 2002 at a little SoapboxMonkey get-together at a pub in Pasadena . Since then I enjoy following his exploits here at House of Cruft, even though I don’t always comment. The food experiments are always fun, same as the Geocaching stories. I also bought the Firefly box set on Mike’s recommendation. No complaints here!

I’ve only been blurking for a little while. I think I caught a trackback to something Mike wrote about some code or a gadget (can’t remember at all now) and curiosity made me browse a couple blog entries. Since I found some interesting, well-written items, I added this blog to my RSS reader feeds.
Total blurker here. I live in Chicago and do camera for documentaries, and have never posted before. Don’t have a blog of my own but LOVE to read The Cruftbox.
Michael uses really big words sometimes and I don’t know what they mean but fortunately there are dictionaries on the internets.

I think Mike’s was the second blog I stumbled on. I think I came here from a comment he had left on wwdn, maybe. Not sure anymore how I found him. I read and occasionally commented. Mike was probably one of the main reasons I finally started my blog. I started to feel like I kinda knew a small bit about him and my comments sometimes seemed too familiar to leave on someones site that I had never actually met before. I started the blog so that he could, if he wanted to, at least have some reference to who this particular nut job was that was commenting on his little piece of the entarweb.
So thanks Mike for being the final impetus that got me to start up my own. Cheers mate, I owe you a drink. Or two.
I worked for Mike and his department as a temp a few years back. I caught wind of his blog (along with some other co-workers on the floor) while working there and started to read it. I continued to read it long after I left but I almost never comment…so maybe I am a blurker.
I’ve known Mike for about a year and through him had April Fool Travis do some first-class writing for me back when I ran Tom’s Hardware. Now I do a bunch of freelancing (just had a piece in the NY Times this past week), speaking, consulting and podcast coaching for a variety of private clients. As well as blog at the URL below. Wish I could take a Hawaii vacation. Have a nice time guys and gals!
A friend of mine had a link to Mike’s blog. Been reading for about a year now. By strange conicidence, I worked in the same building as Mike last year and had occasion to lunch with him.
I have a few failed blog attempts of my own that I refuse to link. They were wildy entertaining though. No, really.
Yes, I am a lurker here. I met Glendor aka Mike in the Blood Clan when we use to play Ultima Online. A game which I only recently put down for good (After 8 years it had finally run it’s course). Currently playing WoW. I still see Weehawk posting comments every once in a while, and always makes me remember some fun nights of entertainment.
Hi. I am indeed a blurker. I usually come to Cruft to see what Michael’s come up lately to distract me and make the mandatory lunch half hour I force myself to take go a little quicker. I remember how I found his blog: I was looking for information on how to wash a hat. (#1 on Google for “wash a hat”…still. Congratulations.)
Anyway, I have a blog that I neglect and post to very infrequently (http://vpofhaterade.blogspot.com), and when I do post to it, it is usually random stuff that I noticed going to or coming home from work. I am the president of Check a Biz (www.checkabiz.com), a start up web site focused on giving people in a certain geographical area access to unfiltered ratings and reviews about the local businesses in their areas, written by other consumers in that area. Come see us. We are just getting started, and are doing things quite differently from your typical business rating sites.
