President Bush said yesterday:
“I think there may be handfuls of people that are very emotional, but I think by far the vast majority of Americans are wanting to know whether they’re going to be able to work and whether or not the government’s doing its job of protecting the country, I don’t have a sense there’s a lot of anger.”
It is a sad day for the US when it’s leader can’t see what is obvious to every citizen…

It’s NOT obvious to every citizen. And that’s why democrats have a good chance at losing in November. Democrats can’t see that Bush still leads in many polls. They can’t see the power that the religious right holds. They just keep saying “well duh, isn’t it obvious?” It’s not.
“Why will you vote for George W. Bush this November?”
“Because I think he stands for strong Family Values.”
I keep hearing this dialog. Do these people even know what Family Values are? Why do people have so many lame reasons for believing the way that they do? They should just come out and say:
“I will vote for George W Bush because I am a sheep. I trust that he will lead the flock to prosperity. BLEAT!”
At least it would be a little more genuine.
You’re not going to be able to convince “them” why it’s OK to destroy the sanctity of marriage or why it’s OK for a woman to kill her baby. “He represents family values” is a better reason to vote for somebody than the democrat’s chant of “Kerry isn’t George Bush!” And if the democrats can’t see “what is obvious to every citizen”, they are going to lose.
he keeps us jobless.
he keeps us scared.
if you are raised to believe the republican way is the right way, there is little or no change you will ever change your mind. you ever spoke to one of these thick headed jerks?
they no less of what is going on and buy hook, line and sinker anything that comes out of george, or condi’s or dicks mouth. it disturbs me a great deal.
i hate the two party system and you should to.
you gonna tell me that labeling someone based on fictional characters is as bad labeling people as black, italian, jewish, gay or asian. it is all a bunch of shit that should even matter.
the only thing that should matter is that there is a man that can do the job and does it well…
where oh where is this man.
i dont buy either of these guys, but will vote and vote kerry. for the simple reason that bush has done nothing to warrant a second term. nothing. a manager of a baseball team would have been fired years ago for taking a team in pregood shape, and taking to a next to last place. there hasn’t been a single step forward, except in the department of fear.
i know i know… get your own blog… you got me going, Mike you and Mister P.
My point is that there a tremendous amount of anger out there toward the President and toward his opponent in the election.
For anyone to say that there are only “handfuls of people” that are angry is simply wrong.
There are tons of people angry on both sides and the President’s ignorance of this is startling.
Mike, I agree. Amidst all of the political noise and opinions, I too am awed by the blatant ignorance of the president, which he apparently has a hard time hiding. Sometimes all of the activist and medias ramblings slowly fade out as I hear another quote (probably provide by Jon Stewart) and think to myself (okay, probably out loud), “Forget politics, this guys is simply a dumbshit. Can we get rid of thim just based on that!!??”
Apologies for the typos. Not too convincing calling someone a dumbshit when every other word is a typo.
So basically, you lied. In order to make Bush look bad, you had to lie. Leave that to Michael Moore. Do you honestly believe that the president doesn’t know about the anger in the country? Did you ever think that maybe he DOES know but is just lying about it? Huh?! You’re so busy trying to prove how clueless Bush is that you won’t even consider the possibility that he’s a big fat liar.
Don’t you feel foolish.
i’m just angry that i am so angry.
i would rather be happy that i’m angry.
anyone know the words to “oh canada”…
beyond “oh canada”?
Oh Canada!
Our home and native land
Does not smell of piss like the filthy Americans!
With glowing hearts we see thee rise
Until our beer is short on supplies!
God keep our land glorious and free
Of those damn French we always see.
Of those damn French we always see.
I dunno about numbers, but the loony left certainly is more shrill this election cycle. You can cut the hyperbole with a spoon.
Regarding the President being “out of touch”, certainly you realize that nearly everything they say at this time is scripted for political effect… don’t you?
Bush is a puppet of American corporate interests and the Project for the New American Century.
Promoting a Christian theocracy in America is his own little hobby.
Thanks for the example, Pat.
Well, let’s see…
– He doesn’t read the newspapers
– He doesn’t hold press conferences
– He only does interviews with folks who are too scared to ask hard hitting questions (like Larry King, ugh)
– His “people” only allow Republicans into campaign events
– Whenever he goes anywhere, the Secret Service force protesters to some holding pen miles away from the main appearance
So… how’s he going to know what normal people really think?
It’s all very scary…(rolleyes)
