Which go in the fridge?

At work last week, Brad and I were discussing which items go in the fridge and which stay out. Brad wrote up a little about this but I’m taking it to the next step.
Here is a poll to survey you, the Loyal Cruft Readers, to see exactly which food items belong in the fridge and which don’t. Assume for the sake of the poll that the containers have been opened.

One of the things I remember when I moved in with Michele was her wacky idea that bread goes in the fridge. Her parents raised her that way for some reason. Seemed absolutely crazy to me. Then again, I grew up with peanut butter in the fridge at all times and Michele insisted it stay in the cupboard. We each had to give a little.
I’m sure you family has it’s own ‘rules’. Which of these seem crazy to common sense to you?

    Also, somethings like chocolate are a “sometimes in the fridge” thing…

  4. The question is moot.
    Things I never have in my home at all:
    Ketchup, peanut oil, soy sauce, mustard, potatoes, parmesan cheese, BBQ sauce, salad dressing

  5. peanut butter – fridge, but only because I get the good stuff that tends to seperate after mixing unless you keep it cold.

  6. Okay, who’s putting potatoes in the fridge?
    If I have a loaf of bread that’s only going to be used for toast, I do like putting it in the freezer.

  7. The only reason we put the bread in the fridge is that we don’t eat a loaf quickly enough and it tends to go moldy too quickly if left out.

  10. We put potatoes and onions in the frig!
    We didn’t used to, but time gets away from us now. And we don’t cook as much. They started getting moldy in the cubboard.
    Garlic remains in a bowl on the counter.
