I’m in an Apple Store with my mother and she’s considering buying an iBook.
Help. I’m surrounded.

  3. I have been hearing all day why I shouldn’t go back to a MAC. Only one argument holds water. And it is a big one.
    If I go back to the MAC, neither son can take over my computer through the little green people man, and fix it when something goes wrong.
    But, I love my old MAC, and the new Apple laptops and desktops are not only georgeous, but look so much simpler!

  4. I’ve got a good freind that is trying to sell his new, barely used iBook with MS Office. He’s probably give you a good deal if you are interested.

  5. But Mom, if you go Mac you won’t NEED your sons to fix the computer in the first place! Maybe you can stick to your Windows machines as a way to stay close to your two darling boys, because you know you will need constant tech support with it.

  6. If I get a Mac, are any of you willing to let me call with questions?
    Before you say yes, remember that until a few years ago I was computer phobic. I have large gaps in my understanding of these wonderful machines. And, I have been known to use the wrong terms when asking for help, completely confusing and frustrating both sons.
    But, if you say yes, I will love you forever!
    There will always be ways to stay close to my boys. And they can not avoid my questions forever. This weekend, Matt started teaching me elementary computer language, which I understand is the same for PCs and Macs.

  7. It’s true that Macs require less in the way of “support”. I set my wife up with an iMac when they were first released and she hasn’t had a bit of trouble with it since. The same definitely could not be said when she was using PCs. Having a Mac will pretty much remove all worry about viruses, and all the software you will likely need will come pre-installed. Plus they look cool.
