Laptop Stickers

Joi Ito posted about putting stickers on laptops.

When I was at SXSW a couple years ago, I struck up a conversation with Jason Nolan about laptops and stickers. He recommended putting a cover on the laptop so I could save the stickers when the laptop died or I wanted new stickers. My wife, the artist, explained to me that I should use Frisket Film as the transparent cover.

Here's what my laptop looks like currently:

What does your laptop look like?

That's an excelent idea. I've been wanting to put a couple of stickers on my laptop, but I don't want to do anything permanent. Do you have some extra Frisket Film left over from when you did this? Because that would be awesome!

So is the picture above with or without this Frisket Film you speak of?

Yes, I have extra Frisket film.

Yes, the above photo is with Frisket film on the laptop and the stickers on top of the film.

I'll have to look for that film at the local...uh...craft store. My main laptop is leased and I don't think my employer would look too kindly on permanent stickers slathered all over it.

My pc on the other hand...is totally covered in stickers.

Totally.

Photo later.

So you used the matte frisket film? I can handle buying a sheet of it unless you ended up using something like the stretch mask which they only sell by the roll...

Casestickers.

Basically started after I put a big scratch on my case on the way to a lan party. Now my case looks like a 13 year old's skateboard.

Speaking of stickers, I saw some guy last weekend who had cut up that bumper sticker that says "Coding is not a crime" and rearranged it as stickers on his mac laptop, saying "Not coding is a crime." I thought it was funny, but them I'm a bit warped that way....
